Monterrey County Gives!
From November 12 to December 31, donations can be made through the MC Gives! program for Monterey Bay Charter School. MBCS relies on annual giving, fundraisers, and grants to achieve our annual fundraising goal. We ask that you give what your family can afford from $25-$100 a month or more.
As you may know, schools across California are facing deep budget cuts that will greatly affect how all schools operate. Because of these budget cuts, fundraising was not built into this year’s budget. Your fundraising contributions this year are incredibly important to the success of MBCS.
It is also incredibly important to continue to offer our families enriching programs and specialty subjects while keeping everyone safe. This year, there are additional operational costs with the need to purchase Chromebooks for students, laptops for teachers to teach remotely and digital applications for remote learning, safety and sanitation supplies. Donor Spotlight
Music is an integral part of our curriculum at MBCS. Our students begin singing and music in first grade. They then begin learning the recorder in second grade, flute in third grade and violin in fourth grade. After fourth grade, our students may choose which string instrument they would like to learn. It is amazing that our students are exposed to a wide range of instruments throughout their academic journey at MBCS. We are incredibly grateful for the continuous support of the Pebble Beach Foundation to bring music to our students. This year, MBCS was able to purchase three new instruments and service existing instruments thanks to a generous grant from the Pebble Beach Foundation.
Our Annual Holiday Bazaar Goes Virtual
This year, we could not celebrate the season together but we could make our crafts at home! Our school sold over 500 craft kits in our community. We are so excited that we were able to bring the joy of the Holiday Bazaar home. Below are some photos of students & their crafts.
