A Magical Winter Faire
Our Annual Winter Faire was Magical! Our families and community enjoyed our annual Winter Faire on Saturday, December 2. It was wonderful to see smiling faces enjoying crafts, delicious food, holiday shopping, and good company. Thank you volunteers for helping us create a magical winter celebration for our students.
That’s a Wrap on MBCS Soccer Season
Our Gnomes had a great soccer season this year. MBCS is a part of the IPAL league and plays charter schools and private schools on the Monterey Peninsula. The team was led by volunteer parent, Coach Joe. Thank you Coach Joe for leading our Gnomes this soccer season!
Evening Blacksmithing with Mr. Vaden
Middle school students and their families were invited to enjoy an evening of blacksmithing with MBCS blacksmith teacher, Mr. Steve Vaden at the MBCS forge. Those who attended were able to create a candy cane ornament or an icicle ornament for a loved one. We look forward to offering many more evening experiences in the future.
PG Parade of Lights
For the fifth year in a row, MBCS families and teachers walked in the annual Pacific Grove Parade of Lights with our school float. Parents and students created a wonderful Gnome Wonderland float and handed out flyers to promote our Winter Faire. Thank you families for joining us!
Lantern Walks
Waldorf schools all around the world have adopted this autumn evening walk in which children carry their “lanterns” (a jar decorated in class) that is made bright with a candle lit inside. The child’s family joins the rest of the class as the children sing autumn songs walk together.
The cool autumn night air, the lights from the lanterns, and our singing voices make this celebration of autumn very very special for our children and families.
