MBCS Walks in the MLK Parade

MBCS proudly showed up as a mighty dozen to honor the legacy of Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., walking in both memory and spirit. No gathering is too small when it comes to commemorating truth and justice—whether through parades, marches, or poetry readings, these moments keep his vision alive. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Grandparents & Loved Ones Day!

Every February, we welcome grandparents and loved ones to visit our school and share a special day with their students in the classroom. This cherished MBCS tradition is a wonderful opportunity to connect and celebrate our community. Thank you for joining us for a day of joy and meaningful moments!

Heartfelt Gratitude for Our First Responders

The children of Monterey Bay Charter School expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the brave men and women who battled the devastating fires around Los Angeles. Four Monterey County agencies—Monterey County Regional Fire District, Monterey Fire, Salinas Fire, and North County Fire—deployed strike teams to assist in the efforts. To show their appreciation, students created thank-you booklets, which were waiting for the firefighters upon their return home.

The Great Kindness Challenge

During the week of January 27th, schools around the world—including MBCS—took part in The Great Kindness Challenge, a global initiative that fosters kindness through a proactive, social-emotional learning-focused bullying prevention program. This challenge beautifully aligns with MBCS’s counseling campaign for the year: Upstanding and Kindness!

Throughout the week, MBCS students engaged in acts of kindness, guided by our Counseling Team and dedicated Kindness Ambassadors. Both the Foothill and PG campuses joined in with themed dress-up days, inspiring morning and afternoon kindness quotes, and engaging school activities.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible school counselors for making Kindness Week so meaningful and fun!
