Black History Month Celebrations

February was Black History Month! An annual recognition of the history, achievements, and influence of the Black community. At Monterey Bay Charter School, character, intelligence, and inclusivity are embedded in all aspects of our curriculum. To further enhance our learning, our classroom doors, at both campuses, celebrated the work of incredible individuals and our middle school Student Council hosted a lunch time art activity for students.

Ocean Guardian Beach Clean Up

As part of our new NOAA Ocean Guardian School project to fight marine debris, we are proud to announce that MBCS has partnered with local organization Save Our Shores to participate in the California Coastal Commission’s Adopt-A-Beach Program. MBCS adopted Del Monte Beach in Monterey for the 2023-24 school year. Last month, 35 families picked up over 294 pounds of trash. Thank you, families!

7th Grade Advanced Math Projects

Our 7th-grade advanced math students presented their fabulous tent projects! After exploring the geometry of prisms and pyramids, they were asked to design a tent, demonstrating their knowledge of measurement, nets, surface area, and camping. Great job students!
